Techport Thirteen has been invited to take part in a pilot test of a new service provided by
HP to customers who have a support contract via the
HP Software Solutions
Community. HP is working hard to offer a greater level of assistance with product technical issues via the community forums and began piloting this activity on
November 1st, 2011 on the Service Manager product.
HP's expert team of HP
Service Manager Engineers will be actively monitoring this forum to answer questions. Valid customers are encouraged to try this method of getting help with
product technical issues rather than placing a telephone call or logging an online support ticket.
HP will also be conducting Expert Days on Service Manager topics and webinars to provide information regarding the Service Manager product. Customers can
also request information or help on any Service Manager Topic.
If you are interested in using the
HP Service Manager Community, please use the following steps to register:
- Go to the HP Software Communities homepage
- If you have an HP Passport account, then click on upper right corner – in the black area – click on Sign In
- Complete your HP Passport credentials
- If you don’t have an HP Passport account, click on register and fill in the necessary fields
- Next, you will be asked to choose your Community Screen name; Please keep this screen name as close to your real name as possible
As a reminder, Techport Thirteen also offers a similar service via its
Techport Connections Forum. Registration to the Techport Forum is free and open to the public.

...that the out-of-box functionality that enables filtering of fills within the
HP Service Manager
Service Catalog item selection screen is broken? To re-enable it, add the following code just after line 26 in the xmlFill ScriptLibrary record:
type = system.functions.str(type);
This will cast the type variable to a string, which is what the switch statement starting on line 31 is expecting.
